  7. Dyes in Minecraft allow players to add vibrant colors to wool, glass, banners, armor, and more. In this guide, we’ll show you how to craft every dye in the game, with step-by-step instructions for each one. Let’s bring some color to your world! 1. Red Dye Ingredients:Poppy (1) or Beetroot (1) or Rose Bush (1) or Tulip (Red) (1) Instructions:Using Poppy: Find Poppies: Poppies are common flowers found in Plains, Forest, and Flower Forest biomes. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Poppy in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 1 Red Dye. Using Beetroot: Find Beetroot: Beetroots can be found in Village farms or grown from Beetroot Seeds. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Beetroot in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 1 Red Dye. Using Rose Bush: Find Rose Bush: Rose Bushes are found in Flower Forest biomes. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Rose Bush in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 2 Red Dye. Using Red Tulip: Find Red Tulips: Red Tulips can be found in Plains, Flower Forest, and Sunflower Plains biomes. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Red Tulip in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 1 Red Dye. Pro Tip:Red Dye is one of the easiest dyes to craft, as Poppies are common in most Overworld biomes. 2. Yellow Dye Ingredients:Dandelion (1) or Sunflower (1) Instructions:Using Dandelion: Find Dandelions: Dandelions are common flowers found in Plains, Forest, and Flower Forest biomes. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Dandelion in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 1 Yellow Dye. Using Sunflower: Find Sunflowers: Sunflowers can be found in the Sunflower Plains biome. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Sunflower in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 2 Yellow Dye. Pro Tip:Yellow Dye is easy to obtain since Dandelions are plentiful in many biomes. Sunflowers can be found in the Sunflower Plains, which are a great source for Yellow Dye. 3. Blue Dye Ingredients:Lapis Lazuli (1) Instructions:Using Lapis Lazuli: Mine Lapis Lazuli Ore: Lapis Lazuli Ore can be found deep underground, usually between levels 0 and 30. Craft Blue Dye: Open the Crafting Table and place 1 Lapis Lazuli in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 1 Blue Dye. Pro Tip:Lapis Lazuli is obtained by mining Lapis Lazuli Ore blocks, which can be found at lower levels in the Overworld. You can also find Lapis Lazuli in loot chests in villages, temples, and mineshafts. 4. Green Dye Ingredients:Cactus (1) Instructions:Using Cactus: Find a Cactus: Cacti are found in Desert biomes. Smelt the Cactus: Place the Cactus in the Furnace and smelt it with any fuel (e.g., Coal or Charcoal). This will create 1 Green Dye. Pro Tip:Green Dye is only made by smelting Cacti, which grow naturally in Desert biomes or Savanna biomes. 5. Black Dye Ingredients:Ink Sac (1) or Wither Skeleton Skull (1) Instructions:Using Ink Sac: Find Ink Sacs: Ink Sacs are dropped by Squids when killed. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Ink Sac in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 1 Black Dye. Using Wither Skeleton Skull (Rare method): Find Wither Skeleton Skulls: These are dropped by Wither Skeletons in Nether fortresses. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Wither Skeleton Skull in the crafting grid. This will create 1 Black Dye. Pro Tip:Ink Sacs are much easier to get, as Squids spawn frequently in bodies of water. Wither Skeleton Skulls are a rare drop, and it's easier to use Ink Sacs for crafting Black Dye. 6. White Dye Ingredients:Bone Meal (1) Instructions:Using Bone Meal: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Bone Meal (crafted from Bones, dropped by Skeletons) in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 2 White Dye. Alternative Method:You can also obtain White Dye from flowers such as Lilies of the Valley or Oxeye Daisies. Pro Tip:Bone Meal is a versatile material, as it can also be used for plant growth or crafting Light Gray Dye. 7. Orange Dye Ingredients:Red Dye (1) Yellow Dye (1) Instructions:Using Red Dye and Yellow Dye: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Red Dye (crafted from Poppies, Beetroots, or Tulips) and 1 Yellow Dye (crafted from Dandelions or Sunflowers) in any arrangement in the crafting grid. This will create 2 Orange Dye. Pro Tip:Red Dye is obtained from Poppies, Beetroots, or Tulips. Yellow Dye is obtained from Dandelions or Sunflowers. 8. Pink Dye Ingredients:Red Dye (1) Bone Meal (1) Instructions:Using Red Dye and Bone Meal: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Red Dye (crafted from Poppies, Beetroot, or Tulips) and 1 Bone Meal (crafted from Bones, dropped by Skeletons) in any arrangement in the crafting grid. This will create 2 Pink Dye. Alternative Method:You can also craft Pink Dye from a Peony flower or a Cherry Blossom sapling. Pro Tip:Bone Meal is obtained from Bones, which are dropped by Skeletons and can be used to craft other dyes as well. 9. Purple Dye Ingredients:Red Dye (1) Blue Dye (1) Instructions:Using Red Dye and Blue Dye: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Red Dye (crafted from Poppies or Beetroot) and 1 Blue Dye (crafted from Lapis Lazuli) in any arrangement in the crafting grid. This will create 2 Purple Dye. Pro Tip:Red Dye can be crafted from Poppies, Beetroots, or Tulips. Blue Dye can be crafted from Lapis Lazuli, which is mined from Lapis Ore blocks deep underground. 10. Light Blue Dye Ingredients:Blue Dye (1) Bone Meal (1) Instructions:Using Blue Dye and Bone Meal: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Blue Dye (crafted from Lapis Lazuli) and 1 Bone Meal (crafted from Bones, dropped by Skeletons) in any arrangement in the crafting grid. This will create 2 Light Blue Dye. Pro Tip:Blue Dye can be made by crafting Lapis Lazuli, which you mine from Lapis Ore blocks found deep underground. Bone Meal is crafted from Bones, which drop from Skeletons. 11. Cyan Dye Ingredients:Green Dye (1) Blue Dye (1) Instructions:Using Green Dye and Blue Dye: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Green Dye (crafted from Cacti) and 1 Blue Dye (crafted from Lapis Lazuli) in any arrangement in the crafting grid. This will create 2 Cyan Dye. Pro Tip:Green Dye can be made by smelting Cactus in a furnace. Blue Dye can be crafted from Lapis Lazuli, which you mine from Lapis Ore blocks found deep underground. 12. Lime Dye Ingredients:Green Dye (1) Bone Meal (1) Instructions:Using Green Dye and Bone Meal: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Green Dye (crafted from Cacti) and 1 Bone Meal (crafted from Bones, dropped by Skeletons) anywhere in the crafting grid. This will create 2 Lime Dye. Pro Tip:Green Dye can be made by smelting Cactus in a furnace. You can find Cacti in Desert biomes. 13. Light Gray Dye Ingredients:Gray Dye (1) Bone Meal (1) Instructions:Using Gray Dye and Bone Meal: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Gray Dye and 1 Bone Meal in any arrangement in the crafting grid. This will create 2 Light Gray Dye. Pro Tip:Bone Meal can be crafted from Bones, which drop from Skeletons. Gray Dye can be made from Ink Sacs or a combination of Bone Meal and Black Dye. 14. Gray Dye Ingredients:Ink Sac (1) or Bone Meal (1) + Black Dye (1) Instructions:Using Ink Sac: Find Ink Sacs: Ink Sacs are dropped by Squids when killed. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Ink Sac in any slot of the crafting grid. This will create 1 Gray Dye. Using Bone Meal and Black Dye: Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Black Dye (crafted from Squid or Wither Skeletons) and 1 Bone Meal (crafted from Bones, dropped by Skeletons) anywhere in the crafting grid. This will create 1 Gray Dye. Pro Tip:To create Light Gray Dye, use Gray Dye and Bone Meal in the crafting table. 15. Magenta Dye Ingredients:Purple Dye (1) Pink Dye (1) OR Red Dye (1) Blue Dye (1) Pink Dye (1) OR Allium (1) (a flower) Instructions:Using Purple and Pink Dye: Open the Crafting Table. Place Purple Dye and Pink Dye anywhere in the crafting grid. This creates 2 Magenta Dye. Using Red, Blue, and Pink Dye: Open the Crafting Table. Place Red Dye, Blue Dye, and Pink Dye in any arrangement. This creates 1 Magenta Dye. Using Allium (Simplest Method): Open the Crafting Table. Place an Allium flower in any slot of the crafting grid. This creates 1 Magenta Dye. Pro Tip:You can find Allium flowers in flower forests and plains biomes. If you need more Pink, Purple, Red, or Blue dyes, they can be crafted from flowers like Poppies, Cornflowers, Lapis Lazuli, and Bone Meal for light colors. 16. Brown Dye Ingredients:Cocoa Beans (1) Instructions:Using Cocoa Beans: Find Cocoa Beans: Cocoa Beans are dropped from Cocoa Pods, which grow on the sides of Jungle trees. Open the Crafting Table. Place 1 Cocoa Bean anywhere in the crafting grid. This will craft 2 Brown Dye. Pro Tip:You can also grow Cocoa Pods by planting Cocoa Beans on the side of a Jungle tree, allowing you to harvest more beans over time.
