I'm Having Issues Connecting to WoA
Experiencing connection issues while trying to join WoA? Don’t worry—we’re here to help! Below are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the most common connection problems players encounter.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
1. Disable Resource and Texture Packs
Resource or texture packs can sometimes interfere with your connection to our server. Disable these packs and try connecting again.
2. Restart Your Game
Restarting Minecraft is a simple yet effective solution. Close the game completely, wait a few seconds, and then reopen it. Try this a couple of times to ensure all components are refreshed.
3. Check Your Internet Connection
A stable internet connection is essential for smooth gameplay. If your connection seems unstable, try rebooting your internet router.
Test your internet speed or switch to a different network if possible.
4. Sign Out and Back In
Sometimes account issues can cause connection problems. Log out of your Minecraft/Microsoft/Nintendo account and log back in.
5. Change Your Minecraft Skin
While it might seem unusual, certain Minecraft skins can cause connection issues. Switch to a default or different skin and attempt to reconnect.
6. Verify Your Minecraft Version
Ensure you’re using a supported version of Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. WoA does not support outdated or beta versions.
Check the list of supported versions here.
Learn more about beta version compatibility here.
7. Test Other Servers
If you’re having trouble connecting to WoA, try joining other featured servers. If the issue persists across multiple servers, it might indicate a broader network problem on your end.
8. Reset Your DNS Settings
If you’ve modified your device’s DNS settings to connect to non-featured servers, reset these settings to default. Custom DNS configurations can occasionally cause connection issues.
When to Contact Support
If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, please reach out to our support team for further assistance. To help us troubleshoot effectively, provide the following details:

Why Am I Muted / Why Can Nobody See What I Type in Chat?
If other players cannot see your chat messages on WoA, it may be due to one of two types of mutes: Server Mutes or Communication Suspensions. Read on to learn more about these mutes and how to address them.
Table of Contents
Server Mutes
Communication Suspensions
Communication Suspensions: Frequently Asked Questions
Warning About 'Unsuspension' Methods
Server Mutes
Server mutes are issued directly by WoA staff. If you’ve been muted:
You’ll receive a message in chat informing you of the reason for the mute and its expiry date.
Appeals can be sent to support@playwoa.com, but only incorrect punishments will be reviewed.
If you don’t see a reason for your mute but your messages aren’t visible to others, it’s likely due to a Communication Suspension (detailed below). WoA-issued mutes will always include a reason and expiration notice.
Communication Suspensions
Communication suspensions are issued by Mojang (Microsoft) and apply across all Featured Servers and Minecraft Realms. These suspensions are typically:
Automatically triggered by Mojang's chat filter for violations such as extreme language or sharing private information.
Manually issued by Mojang staff in rare cases.
When suspended, your messages will appear as sent to you, but other players will not see them.
🔗 Note: WoA has no control over Mojang’s chat filter or communication suspensions. For more information, see the FAQ below.
Communication Suspensions: Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Communication Suspension?
A suspension means that while your messages appear sent to you, they are not visible to other players. If others are not responding to your messages, it’s possible they cannot see them.
Why am I suspended?
Most suspensions are triggered by:
Extreme or inappropriate language.
Oversharing personal or private information.
Actions in other Featured Servers or Realms (suspensions are applied globally).
Suspensions may be issued even if the triggering behavior didn’t occur on WoA.
How long will my suspension last?
Most suspensions are temporary and will be lifted as your chat behavior improves.
Severe violations, such as extreme racism or repeat offenses, may result in permanent suspensions.
How can I remove my suspension?
Improving your chat behavior is the most effective way to lift a suspension. Avoid triggering the filter by adhering to appropriate language standards. However, permanent suspensions cannot be undone.
Can WoA help me?
Unfortunately, WoA has no control over Mojang’s chat filter or suspension system. WoA Support cannot lift suspensions or make exceptions. Xbox Support is also unable to assist with these issues.
Why can I talk on other servers but not on WoA?
Your chat reputation is linked to your Xbox account and applies across all Featured Servers and Realms. If you’re able to chat on private or non-featured servers, it’s because the suspension does not apply there.
Warning About 'Unsuspension' Methods
Beware of myths and misinformation about removing suspensions by spamming or flooding chat. These methods are ineffective and may worsen your suspension or lead to additional penalties, such as:
Worsened reputation under Mojang's filter.
A manual server mute from WoA for rule violations.
Need More Help?
For further questions about Mojang’s chat suspension system, please refer to official Mojang support resources. If your issue is related to a WoA server mute, contact our support team at support@playwoa.com.

WoA Server Rules
Introduction
Welcome to the WoA Server! To ensure a friendly, welcoming, and engaging environment for all participants, we’ve established the following rules. These rules apply to all players across the WoA Server, Discord, Forums, and other communication platforms ("Platforms"). By participating, you agree to abide by these rules, enforced by our dedicated staff.
Our goal is to create a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. These rules are designed to minimize disruptive behavior and promote a positive community. Ignorance of these rules is not an excuse. Please read them carefully before participating.
Quick Summary
Respect Everyone
Do Not Cheat or Exploit
Do Not Abuse Artistic License
Maintain Player and Account Safety
Follow Personal and Account Safety Tips
Read on for a detailed explanation of each rule.
1. Respect Everyone
All players deserve decency, friendliness, and respect, regardless of personal opinions or preferences. Even rule-breakers are entitled to basic respect while their actions are addressed.
Our goal is to foster a safe and fun environment where players can interact constructively without fear of negativity or hostility.
Prohibited Behaviors:
Discrimination based on gender, skin color, nationality, religion, or other personal attributes.
Foul Language: Excessive swearing or inappropriate language.
Trolling: Baiting or inciting players into pointless arguments.
Harassment: Insulting or targeting players maliciously.
Hate Speech: Inciting hatred or violence against anyone, including staff.
Doxxing: Sharing personal information about others.
Spam: Repeated posting of the same message.
Bypassing Chat Filters: Attempting to circumvent protections in place.
Self-Harm Encouragement: Inciting self-harm or related behaviors.
Unsolicited Advertising: Posting links or promoting content without permission.
As long as you engage positively, you are welcome to enjoy the server and Platforms indefinitely.
2. Do Not Cheat or Exploit
Cheating or exploiting disrupts the balance and fairness of the game. These actions create an unreliable and chaotic environment, diminishing enjoyment for others.
Cheating Includes:
Using third-party tools such as autoclickers, macros, or aimbots.
Cross-Teaming: Collaborating with opponents in solo matches.
Installing forbidden mods that grant unfair advantages.
Stats Boosting: Artificially inflating gameplay statistics.
Exploiting Includes:
Abusing glitches or bugs to gain an unfair advantage.
Duplicating items or manipulating mechanics in unintended ways.
If you encounter an exploit, report it immediately to staff. Using it—even unintentionally—will be treated as a violation.
3. Do Not Abuse Artistic License
Creativity is encouraged on the server, but it comes with boundaries. "Artistic license" refers to the freedom players have to express themselves within the game. This freedom must not be abused to harm others or create inappropriate content.
Prohibited Actions:
Offensive builds, such as symbols or shapes meant to provoke.
Offensive names for items, pets, usernames, or guilds.
Inappropriate signs, skins, or capes.
Encouraged Actions:
Creating and sharing fun, inclusive content like memes and running jokes.
Building and designing imaginative structures that enhance the community experience.
If inappropriate content is discovered, it will be removed, and action will be taken.
4. Maintain Player and Account Safety
Your personal safety and account security are critical. The internet can expose you to risks such as hacking, harassment, or fraud. Protect yourself by following these guidelines:
Prohibited Actions:
Sharing your account password or personal information.
Buying, selling, or trading accounts, tools, hacks, or mods.
Using weak passwords (e.g., "1234", "password").
Phishing or scamming.
Impersonating staff members.
If a violation occurs on your account, you will be held responsible. Ensure your account is secure to avoid accidental breaches.
5. Personal and Account Safety Tips
A strong password is your first line of defense. Use a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters for maximum security. Avoid easily guessable patterns like "qwerty1234."
If someone asks for your personal information, remember:
They may not have bad intentions, but sharing details is still risky.
Respond with "I’m not comfortable sharing that" or politely change the subject.
Staff Reminder: WoA staff will never ask for your account credentials or personal information.
Reporting Rule Violations
If you witness a player violating these rules, report them using any available communication platform, such as in-game chat, forums, or Discord. Include as much evidence as possible, such as:
Screenshots.
Chat logs.
Video recordings.
Our staff will review all reports thoroughly and take appropriate action.
Thank You for Helping Us Build a Positive Community
By following these rules, you’re contributing to a friendly and engaging environment on WoA. We’re excited to have you as part of our community, and we look forward to growing together. If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to reach out to our staff team.
Enjoy your time on the WoA Server and Platforms!

Custom Skin Support
Custom skins are a great way to express yourself in Minecraft, but certain restrictions apply when playing on the WoA server. Below, you’ll find details about supported skin types and important policy changes.
Table of Contents
Custom Geometry Skins
Persona (Character Creator) Skins
Custom Geometry Skins
On March 30, 2020, Microsoft introduced new technical and policy changes affecting custom skins in Minecraft multiplayer. These changes apply to skins with custom geometry, often referred to as "4D Skins" by the community.
What Is Affected?
Blocked: Skins with custom geometry (e.g., extra-large, extra-small, or uniquely shaped skins). Players attempting to use these skins will appear as wearing one of our Marketplace skins.
Not Affected:
Marketplace Skins
WoA Costumes
Regular Alex/Steve retextures
Capes
WoA continues to apply filters to skins on the server. While other servers may allow custom geometry skins, they will be blocked on WoA to ensure fair gameplay and avoid potential abuse.
Important Note
This is a Microsoft policy and is not subject to change or debate with WoA staff.
Persona (Character Creator) Skins
As of January 2021, Persona (Character Creator) skins are disabled on WoA. This decision was made to improve server performance and reduce lag for all players.
How Does This Work?
Players joining WoA while using a Persona skin will automatically appear as wearing one of our Marketplace skins.
Future Plans
We hope to re-enable Persona skins in the future, pending performance improvements on Minecraft's side. Until then, we appreciate your understanding and patience.
Conclusion
We understand the importance of customization to your Minecraft experience and strive to maintain a balance between performance, fairness, and creativity. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to our support team. Thank you for understanding!

Allowed and Denied Client Modifications
To ensure fair gameplay for all participants, WoA enforces strict rules on client modifications. Any modification that provides an unfair advantage beyond what the vanilla Minecraft client offers is strictly prohibited.
Below is a detailed list of allowed modifications, denied modifications, and rules regarding input devices. If you are unsure about a specific modification, please consult a staff member before using it.
Table of Contents
Allowed Modifications
Categorically Denied Modifications
Input Devices and Mouse Settings
Important Disclaimer
WoA cannot guarantee the safety or reliability of any third-party client modifications. If you choose to use modifications, you do so at your own risk.
Allowed Modifications
The following modifications are approved for use on the WoA server:

Toggle Sprint & Toggle Sneak: Simplify sprinting or sneaking functions.

Cosmetics: Capes and other purely aesthetic modifications.
CPS Counters: Display your clicks per second.
Armor HUD: Shows the status of your armor.
Auto GG: Automatically sends "gg" in chat at the end of a game.
ℹ️ Note: Clients that include only these modifications are allowed on WoA.
Categorically Denied Modifications
The following modifications are strictly prohibited and will result in a ban if detected:
Hacked Clients: Any client designed to give unfair advantages.
Auto-Clickers: Software or tools that automate clicking.
Entity Radars / Minimap Mods: Modifications that track players or entities.
Macros: Automation that affects gameplay, such as increasing click speed or jump speed.
World or Asset Downloaders: Tools to extract maps or server assets.
X-Ray Mods: Any modification that allows you to see through blocks.

No Hurt Cam: Disables the screen shake effect when taking damage.
All-Direction Sprint Mods: Allowing you to sprint in all directions.
Chat-on-Kill Mods: Automatically send chat messages when killing another player.
ℹ️ Note: Damage and health indicators are not functional on WoA and are therefore neither explicitly allowed nor denied—they simply do not work.
Input Devices and Mouse Settings
WoA strictly prohibits the use of third-party software or hardware configurations that provide an unfair advantage.
Prohibited Mouse Settings:
Double-Clicking: Configuring your mouse to register multiple clicks with one press.
Debounce Time: Reducing your mouse’s debounce time to under 10ms.
While we do not restrict the types of input devices players use, excessively high click speeds may trigger our anti-cheat systems, resulting in a kick or ban.
Final Notes
Our goal is to create a fair and enjoyable gaming environment for all players. Adhering to these rules ensures a level playing field for everyone. If you have questions or concerns about any modifications, please reach out to our support team for clarification.

Table of Contents

Reporting for Other Reasons
Reporting Concerning Behavior
Reporting Rewards
In-Game Reporting
Our in-game reporting system is the fastest and most effective way to report rulebreakers. You can report players for the following reasons:
Hacking or Cheating: Using unfair modifications or tools.
Breaking Chat Rules: Inappropriate language or behavior in chat.
Illegal Teaming: Teaming in modes where it’s not allowed.
Inappropriate Name or Skin: Offensive or unsuitable usernames or skins.
AFK Behavior: Intentionally being idle in games to gain points.
Prolonging Games: Deliberately delaying game progression.

How to Report In-Game
Use the /report command in chat during the game.

Reporting for Other Reasons
If you encounter a situation that cannot be reported using the in-game system or occurs outside of a game (e.g., in the hub), you can report it through the following methods:
Join Our Discord Server: Use the dedicated #report-players channel to file a report with evidence.
Report to Xbox Live: For inappropriate chat behavior or usernames, go to the in-game menu, select the player’s profile, and use the report button to notify Xbox Live Player Safety.
Reporting Concerning Behavior
If a player makes you feel uncomfortable or behaves inappropriately:
Block the Player: Use the blocking feature to prevent further interactions.
Inform a Trusted Adult: Let a parent, guardian, or trusted adult know about the situation.
Contact WoA Player Safety: Email playersafety@playwoa.com with detailed information so our Player Safety team can investigate.
For additional resources on staying safe online, click here.
Reporting Rewards
We value accurate and constructive reports. Players who consistently use our in-game reporting system responsibly can earn Quest Points as rewards.
How It Works
Your reporting reputation improves with accurate reports and decreases with repeated false reports.
Rewards are tied to your reputation. While there’s no visible reputation tracker, submitting valid reports is key to earning rewards.
Rewards Details
Quest Points earned per report vary but can go up to 400 points per reward.
