Factions

How faction reservations work

Reserve a faction name, create your faction, and get it ready for recruitment and war.

Factions are the large, war-focused groups that compete across the world of Orbis. Creating one starts with claiming a name.

Reserving a name

When you create a faction you choose its name. That name becomes yours so no one else can take it. Each name is unique, so if your first choice is already in use you will need a different one.

Setting up your faction

After creating your faction, open the Faction Management Center in your Account area to add an emblem, banner, description, and public links. A complete public identity helps you recruit and prepares you for war.

Getting war ready

Factions take part in war seasons. To be ready you generally want an active commander, enough members, and a public identity set up. The site shows your faction's war readiness so you know what is left to do.

Not sure whether to join a guild or a faction? Guilds are community groups, while factions are built around seasonal war. See A tour of the WoA website for the bigger picture.
