Pacing: Why Grinding Fails

3 min read

The day has a budget and repetition decays — the fastest ladder is a varied one.

Daily EXP budget per track120 EXP (rolling day)
Full rate per act typeup to 60 EXP/day
Beyond that×0.35 on the overflow
First level-up12 EXP — one first shift
  • The daily budget is a rolling window, not a midnight reset — no clock-camping.
  • One act type pays the full rate only up to half the day; past that the overflow rate applies. The tenth identical shift teaches almost nothing, while a shift, a deal and a contract together run at full pace.
  • Consequence: an adult with an hour a day does not lose to someone with twelve free ones. This is a signed invariant of the design, not a tuning accident.
